R. Boyd Mcsparran

Partner R. Boyd McSparran counsels San Francisco property owners on purchase and sale agreements, disclosure obligations, tenancies-in- common (TICs), condominium conversions, easements, and general residential and commercial real property matters. He is also a regular lecturer before the San Francisco real estate brokerage community. Boyd supervises the firm’s landlord/tenant litigation and rent control practice, and heads the firm’s real estate “for-sale-by-owner” or brokerless transaction team.

Boyd began his real estate law practice in San Francisco in 1999. He holds a B.A. in economics from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (1991) during which time he also studied at The University of Edinburgh, in Scotland. Boyd earned his law degree from the University of California Hastings College of the Law (1999), and also studied environmental law at Vermont Law School. Boyd is a licensed California real estate broker.

Boyd has rented or owned almost every conceivable type of dwelling unit in San Francisco, including rent-controlled apartments, flats, an unwarranted unit, and a TIC property which he converted to a condominium project.
